Alder: Superior Color
Superior Color is a 83.3% Clear One Face cuttings grade, with a Cabinet back.
Superior grade Alder is the clearest grade manufactured by Cascade. It includes all NHLA Firsts, Seconds, FAS1F, and most Select boards. Superior Color will have discoloration from sticker shadow, blue stain, and various other occurrences.

Superior Color admits all boards two square feet and over surface measure yielding no less than 83.3% Clear One Face cuttings. The reverse side of the board will be Cabinet grade or better.
Wane is limited to 8.3% of the surface of the graded face. The reverse side aggregate wane will not exceed 1/4 the width by 3/4 the length, 1/3 the width by 1/2 the length. Wane may be divided, showing on both board edges.
The aggregate inches of length will not exceed two times the surface measure of the board.
Splits diverging more than 1" (25mm) per 1' (305cm) in length, are not admitted; except when 1' (305cm) or shorter and within one lineal foot from the end of the board, leaving at least 50% clear wood and no less than 25% sound wood in aggregate.
Side bend is limited to 5/8" (16mm). Pin knots are not considered defect.
