Standard Frame is a 66.6% structurally sound cuttings grade, allowing 4″ x 2′ sound cuttings.

The FRA grade provides structural grade boards for upholstery frame construction. It is also used in a variety of rustic appearance applications where more character is desired than PRE or RUS.

Minimum of one structurally sound cutting 4″ x 6′ (102mm x 1.83m) or 4″ x 24″ (102mm x 610mm)

Notes:

This grade admits all boards of 24″ (610mm) and over surface measure yielding not less than 66.6% sound cuttings. Rules apply to both faces.

Cuttings will be reasonably flat and straight and may contain bark pockets, season checks, slight surface shake that does not impair the strength of the cutting, firm tight pith and stain. This grade allows 5% narrows by volume.

Worm holes and other holes that do not exceed 1.5″ (39mm) in 4″ to 5″ (102mm to 127mm) wide cutting and 2″ (51mm) in 6″ (152mm) and wider cuttings will be allowed.

Wane is limited to 25% of the width and 50% of the length. Wane may be divided, showing on both board edges.

Side bend is limited to 1″ (25mm)
