A Metric By Which We Measure Success
Like many involved in sales organizations, we are all asked to track sales, quotes, follow-ups, rate of closed deals, etc. For us here at Cascade, our crucial metric is “Last Look.” So, let’s define what we mean and why it is so important to us.
“Last Look” means that your relationship is strong enough with your customer that if all things are equal, you will get the last look at an order. “Last Look” to Cascade is the cumulative effects of all our efforts, consistent availability, quality production, on-grade lumber, on-time shipping, accessible and consultative salespeople focused on the customer’s best interest, minimal mistakes, innovative ideas, a sincere appreciation of the business we do get, and a commitment to help grow your business. If we do these things right, we can earn the position of getting that “Last Look.”
If we are not getting a “Last Look” at your business, we want to know why. Markets and needs are constantly evolving and we stand ready to try and earn that position with you. “Last Look” is a goal everyone within an organization can adopt and carry forward. Asking yourself whether the call you just made, the order you just pulled, or the invoice you just sent is helping your company garner that “Last Look” is saying I have done my part and am helping my coworkers however I can do their part to earn a “Last Look.”
In today’s market, getting that “Last Look” can be the difference between profit and loss. We want to be a “Last Look” company with 100% of our customers. To those who turn to use for the “Last Look,” thank you; it is not taken for granted. For those where we are not, look for us to step up our game and try to get there.
