Alder, Maple, and More You Might Not Know We Produce

At our mill, we’ve been focused on delivering top-quality Alder and Pacific Coast Maple for years, but we’ve realized we haven’t always done the best job shouting about our full range of products. If you’re a distributor, cabinetmaker, millwork shop, furniture builder, or retailer, you might be missing out on some versatile, high-value options that can save you time, money, and hassle. Here are some standout items from our lineup that deserve more spotlight:

10/4 and 12/4 Alder in SUP and PRE/RUS grades
We package this thick stock in manageable ~700 board-foot bundles, ideal for distributors who don’t want to tie up space with massive inventory. These heavy thicknesses shine in large doors, elaborate millwork like mantels, and substantial turnings. SUP (Superior) offers cleaner, higher-yield faces for premium applications, while PRE/RUS Premium & Rustic) bring character for more textured looks.

4/4 RUS Alder with a Circle-Sawn Face
After grading, we add that authentic circle-sawn texture for a truly rustic vibe. It’s ideal for western-themed interiors, like cowboy bars or axe-throwing venues—pair it with a grey wash stain, and it can mimic century-old wood. The knots and natural variations in RUS grade give a warm, lived-in appeal without sacrificing structural soundness.

4/4 Alder SUP in 6’ and 7’ shorts
Many buyers assume Alder SUP only comes in long 10’ lengths, or with limited 8’ at premium prices, but we offer shorter lengths at steep discounts (often half or more off). Great for projects where full-length boards aren’t needed, helping you cut waste and costs.

13/16” mill run Pacific Coast Maple for Drawer Sides
Shops making their own drawers love this, fine-grained, with excellent machining properties along with a lower cost per MBF because we were able to saw it closer to the final application thickness. Pacific Coast Maple (bigleaf maple) is a cost-effective alternative to eastern maples, with a creamy color that takes stains and finishes beautifully.

4/4 Cabinet Alder (CB4), width-sorted to 4-5”
This is a gamechanger for ripping stock. Width-sorted for consistency, it’s perfect for cutting down to 3-3/4” widths for cabinet parts or furniture. It’s also a high-yield choice for those popular skinny Shaker-style doors (ripping to 2 x 1-5/8”). Less in the edging cart means better efficiency and less waste.

Occasional Hemlock and Sitka Spruce from our Port Angeles facility
We don’t run these every day, but when we do, logs are abundant and inexpensive compared to Alder or PC Maple. No heavy grade-sorting due to lower volumes, but excellent value: Hemlock works well for furniture, interior millwork, or structural elements; Sitka Spruce suits lighter furniture pieces, hanger strips for wall cabinets, and more. Think of affordable, workable softwoods with good strength and stability.

Fingerjoint and edge-glued Alder up to 16’ long and 12” wide

We can fingerjoint and edge-glue in all thicknesses and grades (SUP, PRE, etc.). Popular for stairway skirt boards, but the broad-shouldered fingerjoint design is especially great for interior trim, carpenters love fewer pieces to join, and the joint allows planing and edge-rounding without exposing lower levels. Need unlimited-length 16’ Alder?

Limited 8’ Alder Prime grade for retail showrooms
Cut from veneer-quality logs (too short for plywood production), this Prime-grade material is premium and consistent. We can surface it and straight-line rip one or two edges to minimize culling on your retail racks—keeping displays looking sharp with fewer imperfect boards.

12’ Premium width-sorted Alder (PR5, PR6, PR7, PR8)
Fixed-width sorting makes these ideal for moulding products or any application needing consistent dimensions. Reduces setup time and waste in production runs.
We’re proud of the quality and versatility in our lineup, from everyday cabinet stock to specialty rustic or long-length solutions. If any of these spark interest for your operation, reach out—we’d love to discuss availability and pricing.
