As our orders have gotten more complex, we have seen the time and effort required to service our customers increase. This change to more highly mixed truckloads and specific delivery dates makes our emphasis on hands-on, consultative, approachable salespeople an even more significant part of Cascade’s continued success. To offer this level of service we needed to add to our team.
Jeff Wallace is our newest team member. He has a wealth of experience selling Alder and other hardwoods. He will focus his efforts primarily on the manufacturing level and handle distribution in the Pacific Northwest. Many of you are familiar with his deep product knowledge, commitment to his customers, and excellent tracking and follow-up service he provides his customers.
Jeff will also lead Cascade’s focus on value-added manufacturing options. In addition to our extensive width-sorted options, many of you might not be familiar with our ability to surface, straight-line rip, and gang-rip lumber. This is a growing part of our business as manufacturers and distributors continue to ask for options to streamline production for their customers. We are also adding component manufacturing to the array of product options we offer, again focusing on increasing productivity and profitability for our customers. Jeff will be the ideal person to partner with our customers on these efforts.
