Rick Barrett officially began his career in hardwood distribution in 1984 with United Lumber and Plywood in Birmingham, AL. However, prior to that he gained valuable experience working in millwork and moulding businesses in his teens. After United, he and his father started the Hardwood Review in 1985 with his brother joining shortly thereafter. After stops in Memphis TN with JT Shannon Lumber (2001-2006) and in Minneapolis, MN with Midwest Hardwood Corporation (2006-2016), he and his wife relocated to the West Coast in 2016 to join the team at Cascade Hardwood. He has experience in both primary and secondary manufacturing, including extensive experience in ripping, sawing to width and hardwood flooring manufacturing. Rick has traveled extensively across North America and around the world selling hardwood lumber, having sold lumber in more than 40 countries worldwide. He has been married to Missy for 35 years, has two daughters and a grandson, and the second best golf handicap on the Cascade sales team.
